TRENDS AND CHALLENGES on 5G-A & 6G Standards

Scope and Topics:

While 5G is still moving at a rapid pace toward a global standard, the focus has now gradually shifted to 6G solutions. Since 3GPP has official initiated R18 and R19 namely 5G-Advanced on 2021, it assumes the first study phase of 6G standard may come around 2025. This workshop aims at understanding the latest trends and potential challenges on 5G-A&6G standards.

As moving into the 6G era, the network is expected to upgrade to a large-scale IoT, programmable architecture, cloud based computation, energy-efficient technologies, AI and other latest technologies to improve the quality of experience for diverse wireless services through intelligent, seamless performance, security and privacy protection.

This series topic seeks articles on recent researches and future directions for 5G-A and 6Gstandards. Papers describing original work are solicited. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • radioand networking technologies for Communication, Semantic, Localization and Sensing towards 6G
  • computation,Federated learning, and machine learning enhancement on communications
  • satellite and UAV into 6G communications
  • industry private 5G-A and 6G networks
  • QoS processing and network determinism on wireless
  • reconfigurable intelligent surfaces
  • cloud RAN and proximity network
  • new Index(including functionaland performance) for 5G-A and 6G Networks
